Privacy policy
EvilSnooze has no accounts and no server of ours. Your alarms, labels, snooze history and receipts are stored only on your iPhone, and are deleted when you delete the app.
Anonymous usage data, only if you say yes
During setup EvilSnooze asks whether to share anonymous usage data. You can change your answer any time in the app's Settings › Privacy. If you say yes, anonymous events go to TelemetryDeck, for example "an alarm was snoozed at level 1" or "a receipt was shown".
They contain no name, no email, no alarm label, nothing you typed or said, no photo, and no precise times: durations are sent as ranges. TelemetryDeck's software also attaches its standard technical details to each event: device model, iOS version, app version, locale, region, time zone and accessibility settings, plus an anonymised, hashed device identifier that is not linked to you.
TelemetryDeck processes this data for us under its own privacy policy, with protections equal to those described here, and does not sell it. If you say no, nothing is sent.
Purchases
Purchases go through Apple. We see only which product was bought, and only as an anonymous event if you opted in above.
Camera
Used only by the optional selfie task, and only if you allow it in the app's Settings. The photo is checked for a face on your iPhone, is never saved or sent, and is gone when the task ends, unless you choose to share it yourself with the share button.
Microphone and speech
Used only by the optional confession task, on your iPhone. Audio is not recorded to storage; the transcript is compared with the sentence and discarded.
Motion and sensors
The walk task counts steps while it is on screen. The shake task reads the accelerometer and the push-up task reads the proximity sensor, only while on screen. None of these readings is stored or sent.
Apple Intelligence
Plus members' nightly line is written by Apple's on-device model, on iPhones that support it. Its input is snooze counts, the weekday and your streak. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
Diagnostics
If you choose to share diagnostics with support, the file contains alarm events and times only.
Retention and deletion
Everything on your iPhone is deleted when you delete the app. Anonymous analytics events are kept by TelemetryDeck under its retention policy; they cannot be tied back to you, so there is nothing we could look up or delete for a person. Messages you send through the contact form are kept only as long as needed to answer them.
Children
EvilSnooze is rated 4+ and collects nothing that identifies anyone.
